One of the biggest issue families face today is the growing cost of childcare…….It can be downright expensive!
Garden Offices are increasingly becoming more popular and there are many good reasons why. According to the Mirror: The number of people working from home has increased by a fifth in the last ten years to reach a record 1.5m, a new study shows. An analysis of official figures by the TUC to mark National Work From Home Day reveals that nearly a quarter of a million (241,000) more people work from home than a decade ago. And the biggest growth in the trend has been among women with 35% (157,000) more working from home in 2015 than in 2005. Union leaders urged bosses to be more flexible to let employees work from home to reduce commuting costs and help people cope with caring and childcare responsibilities.
Working from home is a perfect solution for a lot of families:
- No commuting time.
- The school run.
- Not wasting annual leave due to home delivery’s, school appointments etc.
- You can be flexible about when you work and when you take breaks.
- Savings on childcare and travel to work costs.
Good quality garden offices may make a hole in the family budget. But, think about it, the savings could soon add up:
Childcare cost the average person £960, an increase from 2014, when it cost £943.
However, one in four people now pay four times this average, with some spending almost £4,000 a year on childcare alone.
That was a year ago, with inflation that would have significantly increased.
Garden offices certainly have much to recommend them. A well designed thermally efficient garden office is an asset and soon pays for itself. Here at The Green Room we pride ourselves on the quality of our workmanship. Our multi-purpose garden rooms are designed to last. Therefore, there is no need to double up on spaces, leaving your bedrooms and kitchen tables free for their intended purposes. Financially, it adds value to your property and installing a garden office is certainly far cheaper than buying a house with an extra room……And there is no commute!
Maybe not for everybody, but for some working from home can be a perfect solution.
